What are Friulane shoes?
Friulane are traditional Italian slippers with a history dating back to the 19th century in the Friuli region. Originally handcrafted by rural artisans, they were designed to be lightweight, versatile, and comfortable enough for all-day wear. Today, they are celebrated as a timeless symbol of understated Italian elegance. At GaVi, we honor this heritage by ensuring every pair is hand-stitched by skilled artisans using premium velvet and durable recycled rubber soles.
How do I choose the right size?
Friulane run true to size, but we recommend sizing up if you are between sizes. Please note that the velvet may feel slightly snug at first, but it will soften and mold to your foot with wear. A detailed size guide is available on each product page.
Can these shoes be worn outside?
Yes. Designed for both outdoor and indoor wear, GaVi shoes feature durable rubber soles for everyday use outside, while remaining soft and comfortable enough to be worn at home.
How do I care for the velvet?
o keep your Friulane looking their best, we recommend using a soft-bristled brush to remove any dry dust or dirt. For small spots, a slightly damp cloth can be used. Avoid wearing them in heavy rain to preserve the texture of the velvet.
